On Wednesday’s (July 22) show, the ladies of The View had a lot to say about Taylor Swift and Nicki Minaj‘s Twitter bad blood — even dubbing it their “Anaconflict.” The View panel discussed whether Minaj’s “Anaconda” clip should have been nominated for video of the year and whether her tweets were speaking the truth.
“I don’t think they’re saying if you have a big body you’re not going to get nominated — we don’t always need videos where girls are naked that way,” Raven Symone says.
Most women on the show agreed that they enjoyed the “Anaconda” music video, and it was one of the most memorable music videos of the year. “I loved the video — it was entertaining,” co-host Michelle Collins says. “I think she does have a point, and that’s Hollywood in general — skinny girls go bigger.”

Whoopi Goldberg pointed out the other nominees in the video of the year category — specifically Beyonce. “Beyonce gets nominated and wins — you can’t on one hand say it’s about skinny girls, and then — not that I’m putting Beyonce down — but she’s a full-figured bitch, I’m sorry,” Goldberg says.
Minaj was nominated for three awards — best female video, best hip-hop video and best collaboration (for “Bang Bang”) — but still felt slighted. “What about graciousness?” Deborah Roberts asks.
And when the oddly quiet Rosie Perez was asked her thoughts, she simply says: “I don’t care.”

But Minaj denied that her tweet was directed at Swift:
If your video celebrates women with very slim bodies, you will be nominated for vid of the year

@NICKIMINAJ I’ve done nothing but love & support you. It’s unlike you to pit women against each other. Maybe one of the men took your slot..
