Nicki Minaj‘s first two albums, 2010’s Pink Friday and 2012’s Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded, featured some impressive, Nicki-centric cover art. First was Nicki as a pink-haired Barbie with crazy-long legs, and then came Nicki with bleach-blonde hair, the biggest eyelashes in the world, and vivid facepaint.
Now, for the deluxe edition of The Pinkprint, due Dec. 15, Nicki’s going classic, and stepping out of the limelight in the process: That elegant, literal take on the album title — already itself a nod/warning to Jay Z‘s hall-of-fame 2001 LP The Blueprint — was put together by “the Kanye West team,” according to Nicki’s Instagram.
If she’s referring to Kanye’s mysterious DONDA, she’s in good company: the production/design collective has also done gorgeous minimalist art for Lil Wayne, 2 Chainz, A$AP Rocky, Big Sean, and Kanye’s own blank-slate Yeezus presentation.
Nicki recently released “Only,” featuring Drake, Lil Wayne, and Chris Brown. She’s also rumored to appear on Beyoncé’s alleged second secret album in less than a month. (Still waiting to see if that’s actually happening, but it never hurts to hope.)
