Nicki Minaj brought her Nicki Wrld Tour to the Manchester Arena in the U.K. on Monday night (Mar. 18), and took some time during the set to honor those who lost their lives there during the bombing in 2017.
“Put your light in the sky for everybody we lost,” the rapper is heard telling the crowd in a video taken by an audience member. “God bless the families of everyone who survived and God bless Manchester for being resilient and not bowing down to fear. For being strong no matter what.”
Her speech was met with roaring cheers and a sea of cellphone lights in commemoration. The tragedy occurred on May 22, 2017, where 22 people were killed and more than 800 were injured, including a number of children, in a suicide bomb attack outside an Ariana Grande concert at Manchester Arena.
