Hard rock act Nickelback will hit the road at the end of August with 3 Doors Down in advance of its third album, “Silver Side Up,” due Sept. 11 on Roadrunner. The band will play a stateside date on Aug. 5 in Eastacade, Ore., and then head to Europe for promotion. The band will return to North America for the 3 Doors Down tour, beginning with an Aug. 31 show at the Minnesota State Fair in St. Paul. More dates are expected to be added in coming weeks.
Nickelback recorded the 10-song “Silver” in its hometown of Vancouver with producer Rick Parashar (Alice in Chains, Pearl Jam). The band’s current single, “How You Remind Me,” debuted last week at No. 34 on Billboard’s Mainstream Rock Tracks chart. A video for the track will be shot in Vancouver with the Brothers Strause (Linkin Park).
The group’s sophomore set, “The State,” peaked at No. 130 on The Billboard 200 last September. The album has sold 302,000 units in the U.S. to date, according to SoundScan.
