Tne Next Big Idea-west conference, held January 17 at the Renaissance Hollywood Hotel in Los Angeles, will showcase the visionaries and exceptional marketers who are reinventing the business with original ideas and innovative strategies that work. Leaders will discuss how to move beyond licensing agreements and product placement—past traditional sports and event marketing—to entertainment-as-marketing events.
The conference will be hosted by VNU brands Adweek, Brandweek, Mediaweek, Billboard, The Hollywood Reporter, Sporting Goods Business, and Nielsen Entertainment, in association with the Entertainment and Media Management Institute at the UCLA Anderson School of Management.
“A new breed of marketers are rewriting the playbook for nontraditional marketing and branded entertainment,” said Mike Marchesano, president/CEO of VNU Business Media. “The Next Big Idea is the single most important event to attend for anyone who is looking to use innovation and creativity to cut through the clutter.”
Special guests will include Gene Simmons, Simmons/Abramson Marketing and co-founding member of KISS, who will offer insight on what it takes to succeed in Hollywood and how to apply this to branded entertainment marketing. Additionally, Screen Actors Guild President Alan Rosenberg will join Writer’s Literary Guild President Patric Verrone for an exclusive discussion on industry issues with product placement moderated by The Hollywood Reporter Editor-in-chief and Publisher Robert J. Dowling
