Justin Bieber was in the building, front row at the Y-3 show. Rainbow digitized print covered blazers, mesh skirts and sweatshirts took to the catwalk as seven drummers vigorously banged away. Designer Yohji Yamamoto described the show’s aesthetic as “meaningless excitement.”

For DKNY’s 25th anniversary show, the brand churned out sexy, athletic numbers. And just when you thought the show was about to end, singer Rita Ora marched out from backstage and sashayed down the catwalk for the finale.

Filled with happiness, tribal motif prints, and stunning embroidered, designer Custo Dalmau’s spring 2014 line was more subdued then past collections. Sheer blouses, Aztec printed one pieces and shimmering rose-gold tops took to the catwalk as Hot Natured’s rambunctious and energetic track echoed.

Peter Som’s 1950s surf-tinged collection of graphic floral print Bermuda shorts, cropped tops, and billowing skirts got a synth-pop edge with the assistance of Daft Punk’s “Instant Crush.”

As rhythmic clusters of impressionistic beats played at Emerson, an edgy collection of Technicolor garden print numbers hit the runway.

Charlotte Ronson’s sassy spring collection of feminine separates with a boyish edge was perfectly choreographed to beats by DJ Harley Viera-Newton. Standout items included a cheeky black jumpsuit printed with white cherries, a pair of floral printed pants and a white leather dress.
