Berlin-based music trade exhibition and conference, Popkomm will move locations in 2009 to Station-Berlin. The event will also be held earlier than the previous year’s event, Sept. 16 to 18.
The change of date forced organizers to reconsider the location due to a “congested fair timetable on the exhibition grounds.” Station-Berlin, the former railway station Dresdner Bahnhof at Gleisdreieck, covers an area of 9,000 square meters and is located in the city centre. Artist showcases will take place during the conference in about 30 neighboring venues.
According to Popkomm managing director, Dr. Ralf Kleinhenz, the decision to bring the dates forward came in response to attendee feedback.
