After first being penciled in for an April release and then moving to late May, Three 6 Mafia’s new album, “Last 2 Walk,” is now on target to arrive July 3 via Hypnotize Minds/Columbia. The moves have come to better coordinate the album with the rap duo’s new MTV reality show, “Adventures in Hollyhood.”
“You see us in meetings, recording, trying to come up with songs, trying to do movie deals, even trying to pick up women,” group member DJ Paul recently told Billboard.com of the show. “Our lives are like a circus,” added Juicy J. “You wouldn’t believe the crap we go through everyday.”
As previously reported, “Last 2 Walk” sports guest appearances by Lyfe Jennings, Paul Wall, 8Ball & MJG, Akon, the Game, Lil’ Jon and Lil’ Wayne. First single “Doe Boy Fresh” featuring Chamillionaire topped out last month at No. 54 on the Billboard Hot 100 and has since fallen off the chart.
In related news, former Three 6 Mafia member Crunchy Black will re-emerge with his solo debut, “From Me to You,” on June 12 via Hypnotize Minds/Asylum. The album includes 11 new songs and five “chopped and screwed” selections.
