The members of the re-constituted Menudo pop group were revealed today at the conclusion of MTV’s “Making Menudo” reality show.
The four-song debut EP of the group, “More Than Words,” comes out Dec. 18 at Target stores. A full album on Epic Records is due in spring 2008.
Menudo members Carlos Olivero, Chris Moy, Emmanuel Velez Pagan, Jose Bordonada Collazo and Jose “Monti” Montanez were chosen after nationwide auditions and a 10-episode reality show that was also shown and heavily promoted on MTV Tr3s. The five final winners hail from Puerto Rico, Chicago, Texas and New York. They are managed by Johnny Wright, who steered the careers of the Backstreet Boys, N’Sync and others.
The new Menudo begins a promotional blitz on a float at the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, as well as mainstream and Spanish-language TV starting this week.
