U.K. rock act the Magic Numbers have set a Feb. 20 release date for their sophomore Capitol effort, “Those the Brokes.” The track listing for the U.S. version will differ slightly from the U.K. edition, which was released Nov. 6. The band is currently on tour in Europe through Dec. 14.
The quartet recruited a nine-piece orchestra for the follow-up to its critically acclaimed 2005 self-titled debut and, as previously reported, tapped Richard Wilkinson to round out production duties.
Robert Kirby, who has previously served a similar function for a pair of Nick Drake albums, crafted the orchestral arrangements for the release, which frontman Romeo Stodart describes as sonically and lyrically darker than their earlier output.
“Lyrically, I can’t seem to get away from the fact that I will never ever really truly love again,” he told Billboard.com in April.
