Celine Dion will release in March release her first album since embarking on a hiatus from the music industry two years ago. Details of the Columbia set aren’t expected to be announced until next month. Of late, Dion has been more visible than usual, making appearances the “America: A Tribute to Heroes” telethon and an American Red Cross benefit in Montreal in late September. She has also announced plans for an online chat in March on her As previously reported, Dion also joined such acts as Mariah Carey, Carlos Santana, Destiny’s Child’s Beyonce Knowles on Michael Jackson’s charity single, “What More Can I Give.”
The new album will be a precursor to Dion’s three-year, 600-show engagement at Caesar’s Palace in Las Vegas, to debut in March 2003. She will perform in a theatrical presentation directed by Franco Dragone (Cirque du Soleil) at a 4,000-seat venue designed like the Roman Coliseum and built especially for her show.
Dion and her husband, Renee Angelil, gave birth to their first child in January.
