Los Angeles-based Network Live, the Live-music and digital-entertainment venture, is expanding its operation internationally with the launch of a new office in London.
The company, a joint-venture of America Online, U.S. satellite-operated radio service XM Satellite Radio and Live-concert promoter Anschutz Entertainment Group, has appointed John Gaydon as managing director of the Network Live London office. Andy Brilliant will be executive VP, international.
Gaydon was previously director of acquisitions and productions at Eagle Rock Entertainment. Brilliant’s experience includes roles as deputy CEO at the Hallmark Channel, plus senior executive positions at HBO and ESPN. They both report to Wall, Network Live’s CEO and executive producer of Live 8.
“With Brilliant and Gaydon joining our roster of talent, Network Live is aggressively executing against our overall vision of delivering highest quality content anytime, anywhere and on any device,” Wall said in a statement.
Gaydon and Brilliant will be responsible for cutting deals to broadcast live events via the Internet, mobile platforms, satellite radio, high-definition digital TV and video-on-demand.
The executive pair will also be tasked with boosting the business’s portfolio of digitally-distributed live entertainment internationally, which kicked off with the Nov. 15 transmission of a Madonna gig from London’s KoKo venue.
Network Live was closely involved with the international broadcast of the Live 8 poverty-awareness concerts on July 2.
