It’s been a week since Father’s Day, and Nelly apparently has some bad blood with his dad. In a series of heated social media posts on Sunday (June 24), the rapper slammed his father’s presence in his life and cut him off financially.
In a screenshot of a Tweet posted to Instagram, Nelly wrote, “The word father is a strong word.. something I never knew anything about as a child because mind never did what he had todo only what he wanted.. ‘HOPE IT WAS WORTH IT POPS IM DONE WITH YA NO MORE MONEY FROM ME’ LET THEM PAY YA BILLS..!!”
He continued the animosity in the caption, stressing again that he will not pay his father’s bills anymore: “Just because it’s ya DNA DONT MAKE YOU A FATHER..!!! Mine never saw me play sports never taught me anything never saw me graduate and I still took care of him for almost 20 years he never to care of me for half that..!!!! And till this day he still does what ever he wants even tho I pay his bills .. “WELL USE TO” ..!!! That’s Over as of tonight ..!!!”
There has been no information provided as to what sparked this explosion of emotions, but Nelly took a moment to shout out his mother, who he said played the role of both parents in his life. See below.
