Nelly has cancelled three dates and postponed one in the wake of his sister’s death yesterday (March 24) of leukemia.
The three cancelled shows are all in Texas: last night in Beaumont, tonight in Hidalgo and tomorrow in El Paso. Monday’s show in Nacogdoches at Stephen Austin University cannot be made up because of school scheduling.
At deadline, the tour was scheduled to resume March 30 in Evansville, Ind., but this could change. “The funeral is on Tuesday, and we’re respectfully waiting until [Nelly] is able to assess where he is and lets us know how and when to proceed,” says Rob Prinz, Nelly’s agent at United Talent.
The “Sweat/Suit: Up Close & Personal” tour — which also features Fat Joe, T.I. and the St. Lunatics — began March 7 in Carbondale, Ill. Nelly’s Fo Reel/Universal albums “Suit” and “Sweat” debuted on The Billboard 200 in September at No. 1 and No. 2, respectively.
