Ne-Yo’s “So Sick” climbs eight rungs to capture the No. 1 spot on the Billboard Hot 100 this week, just as the singer/songwriter’s Def Jam album, “In My Own Words,” bows at No. 1 on The Billboard 200. “So Sick” also leaps 12-1 on the Pop 100 and debuts atop the Hot Digital Songs chart.
After only one week atop the Hot 100, James Blunt’s “You’re Beautiful” falls to No. 3 but seizes the No. 1 spot on Billboard’s Adult Contemporary airplay chart, ending the seven-week run of Lifehouse’s “You And Me.”
Sean Paul’s “Temperature,” the Hot 100’s greatest airplay gainer for a third week in a row, rises 3-2 as Mary J. Blige’s “Be Without You” ascends 4-5 and notches an 11th week atop the R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart.
Elsewhere on the Hot 100, Beyoncé’s “Check on It” featuring Slim Thug drops 2-5, T-Pain’s “I’m N Luv (Wit a Stripper)” featuring Mike Jones holds at No. 6 and Nelly’s “Grillz” featuring Paul Wall, Ali & Gipp descends 4-7. “Grillz” also leads the Hot Ringtones chart for a sixth week.
Chris Brown’s “Yo (Excuse Me Miss)” drops 7-8 on the Hot 100, while Dem Franchize Boyz’ “Lean Wit It, Rock Wit It” featuring Lil Peanut & Charlay jumps 11-9 and Natasha Bedingfield’s “Unwritten” falls 8-10.
Daniel Powter’s “Bad Day” is the Hot 100’s greatest sales gainer and soars 29-14. Sheryl Crow and Sting’s “Always on Your Side” is the chart’s top debut at No. 35.
Also new are T.I.’s “What You Know” (No. 83), Anthony Hamilton’s “Can’t Let Go” (No. 93), Nickelback’s “Savin’ Me” (No. 94), Paul Wall’s “Girl” (No. 95), Jason Aldean’s “Why” (No. 96), Panic! At The Disco’s “I Write Sins Not Tragedies” (No. 98) and Ne-Yo’s “When You’re Mad” (No. 99).
On the Hot Country Songs chart, Kenny Chesney’s “Living in Fast Forward” rises two slots to No. 1, as Josh Turner’s “Your Man” falls to No. 2 after one week in the lead. Daddy Yankee’s “Rompe” leads the Hot Latin Songs chart for an impressive 14th frame.
Nine Inch Nails’ “Every Day Is Exactly the Same” holds at No. 1 on the Modern Rock airplay chart for a third week and Nickelback’s “Animals” remains atop the Mainstream Rock tally for a sixth.
