Justin Timberlake, Shania Twain and Harry Connick Jr. will star in separate musical specials slated to air during the week of the U.S. Thanksgiving Day holiday (Nov. 27).
Timberlake’s one-hour special, airing Nov. 25, was taped Oct. 19 at the New Daisy Theatre in his hometown of Memphis. During the program, the ‘N Sync star gone solo is joined by fellow resident Al Green for a rendition of the latter’s classic, “Let’s Stay Together.” Along with performances, Timberlake will take viewers on a tour of Memphis.
The next night, Twain returns to NBC for her second concert special, taped in Nashville. For the performance, Alison Krauss and Union Station backed the Canadian country pop star, whose August special for the network was filmed at a free As previously reported, Fox has slated a Nov. 25 “American Idol: Christmas Songs” special, which is tied to RCA’s recently released “American Idol – The Great Holiday Classics” compilation CD.
A week prior, ABC has the Britney Spears special “In the Zone” set to roll on Nov. 17. That special will boast performance footage shot recently at New York’s Gotham Hall as well as behind-the-scenes footage of her daily life.
