Entravision Radio has named María Nava PD of Latin pop KSSE (Súper Estrella)/Los Angeles. Nava will oversee the station’s day-to-day operations, and reports to VP of programming Néstor Rocha.
“I’m thrilled to be back programming in Los Angeles,” Nava told R&R. “Súper Estrella’s music is different from other AC stations I’ve programmed, but I love pop music, and this format. And I consulted EXA/San Diego when it first launched, which is a very pop station.”
Nava also said there is no plan to change Súper Estrella’s CHR format to AC to mirror Univision Radio’s Latin pop KLVE (K-Love)/Los Angeles. “Our goal is to increase Súper Estrella’s audience and ratings,” Nava said.
Before joining KSSE, Nava consulted several stations, including MVS Radio Latin pop XGLX (Exa)/San Diego. Prior to that she served as OM for Spanish Broadcasting System’s Los Angeles stations. Nava was also PD of KLVE until 2004.
In addition, former SBS Latin rhythm KXOL (Latino 96.3)/Los Angeles mid-day jock Donna G. has joined the Súper Estrella team, and is co-hosting with Alexxx from 2-7 p.m.
