Country stars Toby Keith and Vince Gill will lead a bill of native Oklahomans at an April 22 event to honor those affected by the 1995 bombing of Oklahoma City’s Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building. To be held at the city’s Ford Center, the concert will also feature performances by Jimmy Webb, Ty England, Katrina Elam, Byron Berline and artists from the Centennial Rodeo Opry.
The Memorial Thank You concert comes as part of a week of events marking the 10th anniversary of the tragedy. “We remember the tragedy solemnly,” says Oklahoma Centennial Projects & Events chairman Lee Allan Smith. “But we’re thanking these heroes with a big celebration.”
Beginning April 17, the city will be the center of a National Week of Hope, consisting of memorial services, lectures, symposiums and exhibitions honoring “those who were killed, those who survived and those changed forever.”
Tickets for the concert are $10 and will go on sale Monday (April 4) via the venue’s box office and Tickets.com. Proceeds will benefit the Oklahoma City National Memorial, built on the former site of the Federal Building.
