Rapper Nas has put the finishing touches on a 22-track double album, “Street’s Disciple,” due Nov. 30 via Ill Will/Columbia. First single “Thief’s Theme” is built on a sample of Iron Butterfly’s “Inna Gadda Da Vida,” while latest single “Bridging the Gap” is a collaboration with his father, veteran session musician Olu Dara.
“Street’s Disciple” boasts additional guest appearances by Maxwell, Ludacris, Busta Rhymes, Lyfe and AZ. Production was supplied by Q-Tip, Scott Storch, Salaam Remi, L.E.S. and Nas himself.
The set is the follow-up to 2002’s “God’s Son,” which peaked at No. 1 on Billboard’s Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart and No. 12 on The Billboard 200. The set has sold 1.22 million copies in the United States, according to Nielsen SoundScan.
Nas has four shows West Coast shows on tap this month, beginning Nov. 14 in Anaheim, Calif., proceeding to San Francisco on Sept. 16, Fresno, Calif., the following day and wrapping Nov. 21 in Las Vegas.
The artist can also be heard guesting with Ice Cube, Jadakiss and T.I. on “The Grand Finale,” which will be found on Lil Jon & the Eastside Boys’ new TVT album, “Crunk Juice.”
