Download service Napster has partnered with Clear Channel Entertainment’s Instant Live service to exclusively provide consumers with digital access to live music recordings.
Instant Live—which distributes concert recordings to fans at venues directly after the completion of select shows—will now allow Napster subscribers to stream or download its new and catalog recordings at Napster.com or InstantLive.com. Tracks will also be available on a track-by-track basis for 99 cents each.
The first tracks to be made available will include recordings from the Allman Brothers Band, Bauhaus, the Black Crowes and Copeland. Under the terms of the deal, Napster will also promote its service at Instant Live shows.
