Exclusive: MySpace Launches New Music Player, Search Function, Facebook Integration
In the latest in a string of departures from the struggling Myspace Music, Dmitry Shapiro revealed today that he is leaving to form a new company.
Shapiro announced the move on his Twitter feed.
Shapiro joined Myspace in June of last year as Chief Technology Officer. He previously was CEO of the video sharing site Veoh, which was the target of music industry lawsuits from the likes of Universal Music Group after his prior company. He reported to former Myspace Music president Courtney Holt, who announced his departure from the company last month.
No details yet on the new company he is forming, although he noted that he’s hiring developers in Los Angeles.
