As expected, My Bloody Valentine will perform a handful of U.S. concerts in the days following its appearance at upstate New York’s All Tomorrow’s Parties festival, to be held Sept. 19-21 at Kutshers Country Club in Monticello, about 100 miles away from Manhattan. MBV is curating the new ATP festival, which is the band’s first American show in 16 years.
Before heading Stateside, MBV will perform throughout the United Kingdom, including gigs at London’s Roundhouse (June 20-24), Manchester’s Apollo Manchester (June 28-29) and Glasgow’s Barrowland (July 2-3). The band is also confirmed to perform at several international festivals.
In related news, ATP New York has expanded its bill to include Dinosaur Jr., Mercury Rev, Harmonica, Lilys, Growing and Yo La Tengo. As previously reported, other confirmed acts to appear are Shellac, Mogwai, Polvo, F*ck Buttons, Autolux, the Drones, Low, Wooden Shjips, Edan and Thee Silver Mount Zion Orchestra.
The festival will also feature four acts performing classic albums in their entirety: Built To Spill (“Perfect From Now On”), Tortoise (“Millions Now Living Will Never Die”), the Meat Puppets (“Meat Puppets II”) and Thurston Moore (“Psychic Hearts”).
The first round of ATP New York tickets went on sale April 25 via ATPFestival.com. Two-day passes are priced at $225 (plus service fees). Single-day tickets are not available.
All Tomorrow’s Parties has become an institution in England since the early part of the decade, with events curated at holiday camps in Camber Sands and Minehead by revered underground acts like Tortoise, Autechre, Slint and Moore, among others.
