As seen in past years, the #NeverForget hashtag was a trending topic on Twitter and Instagram as the world remembers the 15th anniversary of the World Trade Center attacks on Sept. 11, 2001.
Music stars ranging from country great Willie Nelson to “Panda” rapper Desiigner shared tributes to the victims and families of those devastated by the New York City terrorist attack. Others honored 9/11 with patriotic-themed posts of American flags, World Trade Center photos, images of the brave firefighters, the Statue of Liberty, and more.

#NeverForget 9 • 11 • 2001 15th years ago today we lost many lives & the Towers due to a act of terrorism. Our city & country was forced to stand tall as those Towers once did & always remember the fallen soldiers of this day. The date 9/11 will always be symbolic to me for more reasons than one… My condolences go to the families affected by this tragic event. And my respect & appreciation goes to the many who helped saved lives & repair our city in its aftermath.
Today we remember this generation’s Pearl Harbor, #9/11 We proudly stand for the Star Spangled Banner, hand over hearts. #GodBlessAmerica
