The Music Monitor network will celebrate its 10th anniversary with its “Noise In the Basement” creative conference, to be held in Baltimore Sept. 18-22.
The convention is expected to feature performances by Regina Spektor, Atmosphere and Brother Ali, Flyleaf, Ben Jelen, Grace Potter & the Nocturnals, Josh Ritter, Serena Ryder, J. Holiday and Van Hunt, among others.
It will also include an MTV Networks demo of the upcoming video game “Rock Band,” a screening of the film “Daft Punk’s Electroma” and a special documentary about David Lynch called “Lynch 2.” The convention will also feature a screening of “Across The Universe,” a romp through Beatles tunes, directed by Julie Taymor (“Frida”).
Portions of the event will be filmed by Charm City Bakery’s production company for use with a possible episode of the Food Network’s “Ace of Cakes.” The event will culminate with a Saturday (Aug. 22) afternoon softball game at Patterson Park. Baltimore’s favorite bakers ACE of CAKES will play against the record industry.
