MTV Networks International will exclusively broadcast Oasis’ sold-out concert at London’s Wembley Arena live-to-air at 9pm on MTV One on Oct. 16 in the U.K. and Ireland. It will be the first broadcast of the tour for the U.K. rock act’s seventh album, “Dig Out Your Soul” (Big Brother Recordings).
“We are delighted to be supporting Oasis on the release of their new album and tour, this is a real moment in music with true rock and roll stars,” said Richard Godfrey, MTV Networks U.K. and Ireland senior VP music and production, in a statement. “This will inevitably be a show not to be missed and the MTV audience can experience the gig as it happens.”
Oasis fans can also hear the whole album a week ahead of its official Oct. 6 release via the band’s MySpace page (www.myspace.com/oasis).
“MySpace is the place to discover new music and in 2008 we have secured a number of amazing album exclusives including The Verve and Coldplay,” said MySpace U.K. head of entertainment Dom Cook in a statement. “Widely tipped to be one of their best ever, ‘Dig Out Your Soul’ is Oasis’ first album for three years so we’re expecting it to be one of the most popular exclusives we’ve ever run.”
The stream was temporarily affected by “unforeseen circumstances,” according to the band’s official website www.oasisinet.com, but is now available in its entirety via the social networking site until Oct. 6.
