Demi Lovato made her MTV Video Music Awards live debut on Sunday night (Aug. 30) to perform “Cool For The Summer,” her latest Top 20 hit and the lead single to her fifth studio album, and brought a special guest — her pal Iggy Azalea, who provided a verse for the song’s remix!
Lovato began the performance of the “Summer” song in a beach chair, with towel-clad male dancers soon joining in and the pop star stabbing a giant cherry piñata prior to the second chorus. Then, Azalea arrived as a pseudo-surprise (her appearance was teased in the telecast’s introduction), as the Australian rapper delivered her rhymes with her back to Lovato’s sultry moves. Lovato then floated on an inflatable boat for the grand finale, with confetti floating down during the song’s enormous hook.
