MTV Tr3s is upping its regional Mexican music video programming by 30 minutes every weekday.
The bilingual channel, which currently airs the half-hour “Mix Mex” regional Mexican video show from Monday through Friday, will also add another music show in the genre as well as a reality program around a yet-to-be confirmed regional Mexican star.
In a possible programming hint, banda diva Jenni Rivera is hosting “Top 10 Latino Cribs” on Nov. 22, and will star in MTV Tr3s’ first-ever original “Cribs” episode.
MTV Tr3s’ music programming has skewed heavily urban. But regional Mexican music accounted for 60% of Latin music sales in 2008, according to Nielsen SoundScan, up to the week ending Aug. 24.
