
MTV Tr3s executives have announced plans for new programs including a reality show by singer/actress Dulce Maria, “Unplugged” shows and “Making the Video” specials, according to network officials.
The bilingual and bicultural network is also introducing other shows for the summer and fall including projects with TV personality Mario Lopez, boxer Oscar De La Hoya and BMX champion Ricardo Luna.
“The Dulce Maria Show” will follow the the entertainer as she navigates through her career in the U.S. after having a successful run in Latin America. She faces the challenges of a new life and career in Hollywood.

“The Golden Boys,” produced by 51 minds, is a half hour show that will track the life of De La Hoya as he trains, promotes and works with three fighters. “The Ricardo Luna Project” returns for a second season featuring the Mexican-American BMX pro and his family in Las Vegas.
“The Chisme Club” (“The Gossip Club”) will feature Latino personalities and comics who dish on “absurd” pop culture news. Other programs include “Latino Boot Camp” which connects Latinos to their roots through “eye-opening encounters with their ancestors in Latin America,” “From Chongas to Reinas,” a show about Latinas who are changed to well-mannered ladies and the comedic series “Culture Swap,” featuring two young adults with different backgrounds who switch lives for a week.

Officials also announced a new telenovela, “Ultimo Año” (“Last Year”), a suspense thriller about a foreign exchange student who deceives those around him. The soap is a co-production with MTV Latin America.
“This original content directly speaks to and authentically reflects our bilingual/bicultural audience,” said Jose Tillan, GM & EVP of Tr3s, in a prepared statement. “By evolving signature franchises and introducing new formats, we continue to position Tr3s as a leading content provider for this unique audience.”
A spokesperson with the network said that news about talent participating in the “Unplugged” series will be announced in the near future. Tr3s: MTV, Música y Más is owned and operated by Viacom International Media Networks, a unit of Viacom Inc.
