MTV Networks Europe has realigned its Central European executive structure following the acquisition of German music TV broadcaster Viva Media. The changes go into effect in the spring.
Catherine Mühlemann, formerly managing director of MTV Central Europe, will head MTV and Viva’s television business in Germany, Switzerland and Austria and emerging markets, including eastern Europe and the Middle East.
Under her leadership, five VPs will be responsible for the merged group’s German television business. That team comprises Elmar Giglinger, Alexander Duphorn, Joel Berger, Holger Letzel and Werner Brell.
Former Viva CEO Dieter Gorny becomes head of business development and network relations for MTV Networks Europe and parent company Viacom in Germany. Gorny will explore new business opportunities for the Viacom portfolio in the German market. Mühlemann and Gorny report to Brent Hansen, president/CEO of MTV Networks Europe.
