MTV Networks Australia is restructuring. As part of the changes, Helen Ryan, GM for the past eight years, will exit on a date to be determined, the broadcaster said today (March 17).
MTV Australia managing director Nigel Robbins has created two new departments: one for strategy and business development and one for creative and brand development. Appointments for the Sydney-based units will be made shortly, Robbins says.
The broadcaster has also revamped its remaining management team. Ean Thornley has relocated to Sydney as executive producer for the MTV Australia and VH1 Australia channels. Thornley was most recently executive producer for MTV in Hong Kong; he previously helped establish VH1 in the United Kingdom.
Additionally, Andrew Hoppe has been promoted from director to VP of production, programming and operations. India Bent, who was director of marketing and communications, is upped to VP of marketing, communications and event management.
