Jeannie Kedas has been promoted to the newly created position of senior VP of communications for MTV Networks Music/LOGO/Films Group. She will continue to be based in New York and reports to Van Toffler, president of MTV Networks Music/LOGO/Films Group.
“Jeannie has been at the forefront of the expansion of our music brands, and I am so happy to have her on my team,” said Van Toffler in a statement. “She’s one of the most talented communications consigliores, who has juggled everything from Beavis & Butthead to presidential political forums and then some — all of which make her strangely and uniquely qualified for pretty much anything.”
In her new role, Kedas will oversee internal and external communications for the the group’s development in new brands and services including digital and broadband platforms, wireless initiatives, digital music content and new business enterprises. She will also partner with the senior communication executives within the music group on key strategic projects and growth efforts, as well as work the MTV Films group on media strategies and press launches.
Kedas joined the company in 1997 and previously held roles as senior VP of MTV communications and public affairs, VP of MTV communications, and VP of corporate communications and public responsibility for MTV Networks.
Prior to joining MTVN, she served as the press secretary for United States Senator Edward M. Kennedy and press secretary for 1988 Democratic Presidential nominee Michael S. Dukakis.
