Female acts both new and veteran captivated YouTube viewers in October as Girls’ Generation‘s Taeyeon landed last month’s top-viewed K-pop video both in America and around the world with “I” featuring rapper Verbal Jint. The single marks Taeyeon’s first official solo single and interest about the popular girl group’s leader undoubtedly led to a huge amount of views helping the singer rank No. 1 on both of YouTube’s most-viewed K-pop videos in the U.S. and the world for October 2015.
But viewers were also extremely intrigued to see what nine-member girl group Twice would bring in the video to their debut single “Ooh Ahh,” that is runner-up on both charts. The latest visuals from girl group f(x) and Korean songbird IU also rank in the Top 5 as the former’s “4 Walls” video ranks at No. 3 in America and No. 4 worldwide, while the latter’s “Twenty-Three” is No. 4 in the U.S., but No. 3 worldwide.

New girl group Oh My Girl also represent the girl-power on this chart with new single “Closer” ranking at No. 8 in America and No. 10 worldwide as do soloists Ailee (her “Insane” music video is No. 6 in America, No. 8 worldwide) and Soyou of girl group Sistar (her “You Don’t Know Me,” a collaboration with Brother Su, is No. 9 in America and No. 7 worldwide).
Male acts did slip into the female-dominated month as R&B singer Zion.T holds No. 5 on both charts with “No Makeup.” As well, you’ll find “A Million Pieces” by Super Junior member Kyuhyun, in the Top 10 of both charts.
