
Morrissey, Blur, Argentine ska legends Los Fabulosos Cadillacs, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, and the British band Underworld are among the artists confirmed for the massive Vive Latino festival, to be held at Mexico City’s Foro Sol stadium March 14-17, 2013.
Morrissey and Mexican indie band Enjambre will open the festival the night of March 14, Mexican publications reported after the line-up was announced at a press conference in Mexico City Monday (December 3). Yeah, Yeah, Yeahs and Underworld are set to headline March 15. Blur will headline the 16th and The Cadillacs will close Vive Latino on the 17th.

The over 100 bands confirmed for the festival include recent Latin Grammy alternative album and song winner Carla Morrison, Nortec Collective DJs Bostich and Fussible, Afro-Colombian cumbia hip hop group Bomba Estereo, Argentina’s Banda de Turistas, Uruguayan rockers Cuarteto de Nos, Gepe from Chile, the reunited Mexican band Porter, and Spanish rapper Mala Rodriguez.
Vive Latino, billed as the Festival Iberoamericano de Cultura Musical (The Iberoamerican Festival of Musical Culture) was held for the first time in 1998, and has continued yearly except for in 1999 and 2002. The 2013 festival will be the first to continue over four days.
Tickets for Vive Latino 2013 will be available during a Ticketmaster pre-sale December 6 and 7, with general ticket sales starting December 8.
