Country star Craig Morgan has decided to exercise his right of term according to his contract and will be leaving Broken Bow Records.
“It’s been a good six years with BBR, but now it’s time to move forward,” Morgan said in a prepared statement.
While Morgan’s manager, Faith Quesenberry at Vector Management, wouldn’t comment on his next destination, informed sources say he’ll land with recently-launched Valory Music. There he would be reunited with VP of promotion and artist development Jon Loba, who joined that label in November after leaving Broken Bow.
Morgan has scored five top 10 singles, including the No. 1 “That’s What I Love About Sunday,” in his eight year career, which started at the now defunct Atlantic Records Nashville. His latest single, “International Harvester,” is currently at No. 10 on Billboard’s Hot Country Songs.
Morgan’s latest CD, “Little Bit of Life,” has sold 290,000 copies, according to Nielsen SoundScan. Overall he has tallied 862,000 albums sold in the U.S. during his career.
