Veteran Nashville-based promoter Steve Moore has quietly joined the Nahville office of AEG Live as a senior VP, Billboard.biz has learned. He has shuttered his company Moore Entertainment.
Moore, whose history in the market includes stints with PACE Concerts, Starwood Amphitheater, TBA Entertainment and his own Moore Entertainment, joined the AEG Live Nashville office earlier this year. He reports to L.A.-based AEG Live division Concerts West co-CEOs John Meglen and Paul Gongaware.
“John and Paul are old partners and friends, and after I finished with the Dolly [Parton] tour [in December], they talked to me about joining up with them,” Moore tells Billboard.biz. “They thought I might be able to contribute to what they’re doing. They’re a great company, so we worked out a deal.”
The move reunites Moore under the same corporate banner again as his former boss at PACE Concerts, Louis Messina, now president of AEG Live/TMG, based in Houston. “Louis is one of my good friends and mentors,” says Moore, who brings with him his Moore Entertainment team of Mary Gellotte, marketing director; Lindsey Ewer, project manager; Tom Corley, tour producer; and Chris Crawford, project coordinator.
Current projects for Moore include this summer’s Veggie Tales tour, as well as an upcoming CMT On Tour run featuring Brad Paisley, Sara Evans and Sugarland. Also in the works is a New Year’s Eve show at Nashville’s Gaylord Entertainment Center headlined by Brooks & Dunn.
The Brooks & Dunn show, first announced here, will be the seventh NYE gig Moore has produced at Gaylord, following two shows headlined by Toby Keith, two by Kenny Chesney, and four from Tim McGraw. All have been sellouts.
In January of 2006, Moore will produce with the Country Music Hall of Fame a second Sound & Speed event in Nashville, featuring NASCAR drivers and such country stars as Vince Gill and Trisha Yearwood.
