The funk is back and we are space-walking our way to the nearest dance floor thanks to Moon Boots‘ disco doo-wop tune, “Tied Up.” It’s a return to jazzy force from the Brooklyn-born producer, with a sunny focus on upbeat rhythms, feel-good melodies and a dream sing-along from fellow NYC vocalist Steven Klavier.
It’s a love song, wherein Klavier submits to the chains of love. “Tied Up” is a serious mood setter, and it’s the lead single for Moon Boots’ forthcoming second album, Bimini Road. The LP was inspired by the story of the very-real stone formation found off the coast of the Bahamaian islands, which some posit could have been a road or wall from the lost city of Atlantis. The forthcoming LP features additional collaborations with Little Boots, St. Lucia guitarist Ross Clark and more.
Bimini Road is set for release Sept. 6 on Anjunadeep and is now available for pre order. Moon Boots will support the album with a live tour and his seven-piece band in tow.
