K-pop group Monsta X surprised fans Tuesday with the release of a brand-new music video for their song “In Time.”
In the new clip, the seven members perform The Code track while decked out in winter-appropriate coats and sweaters as they sit with one another. The release of the music video coincided with Monsta X’s 1,000th day since their first album, the 2015 EP Trespass, and served as a gift to the band’s fans, known as Monbebes.
Though the group typically favors powerful dance tracks for their music videos, “In Time” is an R&B-tinged ballad and was co-written by Monsta X rapper Jooheon. It features the band singing about hoping that time stops so they can look at the person in front of them, which fans have understood to mean Monbebes themselves.
A popular Korean group Stateside, Monsta X has visited the U.S. on multiple occasions — selling out shows — and are fan favorites on several Billboard charts. Upon its November release, “In Time” EP The Code went to No. 2 on the World Albums chart and also landed the group at a peak of No. 19 on the Emerging Artists chart. The boy band’s popularity has seen them frequently appear on the Social 50 chart, where their current peak is No. 12.
