While continuing work on his next album, due in 2008, Moby has formed a rock band that is as-yet-unnamed. The group played a fundraiser in New York earlier this week and will be back on stage for more shows in June, with details to be announced.
“We were ‘the Little Death’ until we realized that there are about five other Little Deaths out there and, as we live in a litigatious culture, we opted to avoid lawsuits and, thus, refrained from naming ourselves ‘the Little Death,'” Moby says.
In the meantime, Moby will play a host of DJ sets this month, beginning Saturday (May 5) at Studio B in Brooklyn, N.Y., where he will “be playing awesome old rave tracks.”
The DJ gigs continue in Cannes, France (May 16); Montpelier, France (May 17); Barcelona (May 18); Madrid (May 19) and back in New York (Nublu, June 15).
