
Miranda Lambert and Carrie Underwood, two of the most dynamic women in country music, have been announced as performers at the 2014 Billboard Music Awards, being held Sunday, May 18 in Las Vegas.

The two singers will make the television debut of their new duet, “Somethin’ Bad,” which appears on Lambert’s upcoming album “Platinum” (due June 3). “I’m a huge Carrie Underwood fan,” Lambert says. “‘Somethin’ Bad’ is a meshing of our styles and there aren’t many female collaborations in our format so I’m really excited to be debuting it on the Billboard Awards.”

They join previously announced performers including Miley Cyrus, Ricky Martin, Jennifer Lopez, Pitbull, 5 Seconds of Summer, Florida Georgia Line, Jason Derulo, Imagine Dragons, Luke Bryan, John Legend and OneRepublic. Presenters for the event include Jordin Sparks, Kelly Rowland, Pete Wentz and Wiz Khalifa, among others.
To call Lambert and Underwood the leading ladies of today’s country music would be an understatement. Between the two of them, they’ve have scored 16 No. 1 singles on the Hot Country Songs chart, and 8 leaders on Top Country Albums (9 No. 1s if you count Lambert’s Pistol Annies band). Underwood has sold more than 15 million album worldwide, and Lambert has seen each of her first four albums debut atop the charts.
Underwood is also a finalist for the 2014 Milestone Award presented by Chevrolet, given to an artist who has achieved a notable chart milestone over the past year. Fans can vote for their favorite artist online at Billboard.com/milestone.
The BBMAs, which are produced by dick clark productions, will be broadcast live from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on Sunday, May 18, on ABC at 8 p.m. ET.
