The singer, MTV’s Best Artist of 2013, will appear in her own “Unplugged” special Wednesday, Jan. 29.

The performance will feature Cyrus in an acoustic setting, tossing out tunes from her No. 1 album “Bangerz” — some of which will be reinvented specifically for the set, with special, surprise guests advertised as well.
“The ‘Unplugged’ stage has been home to some of the most iconic live performances of all time,” Amy Doyle, EVP of music and talent programming strategy for MTV, said in a release. “Miley’s vision for the performance is like nothing we’ve ever seen. I can say that this will easily be one of the most memorable ‘Unplugged’ performances to date.”
Cyrus follows in the footsteps of multiple artists who have taken part in the “Unplugged” franchise since its 1989 inception, including Nirvana, Bruce Springsteen, Florence + the Machine and Adele.
The performance precedes her 38-city “Bangerz” tour, which kicks off Feb. 14 in Vancouver, British Columbia.
“Miley Cyrus: MTV Unplugged” will premiere Jan. 29 at 9 p.m. ET.
