Miley Cyrus and Bob Dylan probably don’t have too much in common these days, but that didn’t stop the pop star from covering one of Dylan’s classic “Bloods on the Tracks” tunes. Cyrus premiered a new video on Monday (Jan. 23) for her take on “You’re Gonna Make Me Lonesome When You Go,” which appears on the compilation album “Chimes of Freedom: Songs of Bob Dylan Honoring 50 Years of Amnesty International.”
The stripped-down clip finds Cyrus sitting in front of a microphone and belting out the tune alongside some muted instrumentation. Showcasing some country-infused soul and bare production, the song may not be what her pop fans are used to seeing from the young starlet, but she seems up to the task of covering the legendary singer.
“Chimes of Freedom,” to be relased on Tuesday, is a 4-disc CD set with a total of 73 tracks that includes Dylan renditions by Adele, Sting, Ke$ha, Darren Criss, Pete Seeger, Maroon 5 and more.
