Miley Cyrus is currently working on music with a new collaborator; this time, she’s venturing into the world of indie rock.
The pop singer is recording music with the Flaming Lips, according to an Instagram from band frontman Wayne Coyne. As one might expect, the picture includes Cyrus and Coyne partaking in some natural herbs from the earth — rolled with “Bangerz”-brand rolling papers, naturally.
“Yup…… Recordin with Miley… High as fuck….” an additional caption for the picture reads.
As Pitchfork points out, this isn’t the first time Cyrus and Coyne have collaborated. The duo performed together on her “Bangerz” tour more than a few times — including at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, where they played the Lips’ “Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots.”
There’s currently no word on what the recording session was supposed to yield — new Cyrus music, new Flaming Lips material or a combination thereof. While “Bangerz” is still fresh in the minds of many, having dropped last October, the Lips are approaching one year since the release of “The Terror,” which climbed to No. 21 on the Billboard 200.
