“Relax, Take it Easy” by Mika was the most downloaded song in Italy last year, according to the country’s official monitor, FIMI Nielsen SoundScan.
The artist also took the fourth place for legal downloads with “Grace Kelly”, while Eros Ramazzotti’s “Non Siamo Soli” was second and Rihanna’s “Umbrella” was third.
Results were based on sales at the country’s 12 leading online music stores. As of Jan. 1, the Nielsen SoundScan chart has included mobile downloads, based on sales figures provided by Vodafone Music Live. FIMI has also announced that its digital charts have replaced the traditional singles charts, as of Jan. 1 (Billboard.Biz, Jan. 14).
FIMI says digital music now accounts for 8% of the Italian music market.
