Michelle Obama joined James Corden for a girl-power edition of “Carpool Karaoke” on Wednesday night.
The First Lady sang “This Is for My Girls,” a tune intended to help promote education for girls worldwide. The song, which was written by Grammy-winner Diane Warren and features artists Kelly Clarkson, Missy Elliott, Janelle Monae, Kelly Rowland, Lea Michele and Zendaya, was produced by AOL’s Makers.
During her Washington, D.C. ridealong with the late-night host, Obama told the Brit to “crank it up” to sing along to past “Carpool Karaoke” guest Stevie Wonder (“I know every Stevie song on the planet”) and Beyonce’s “Single Ladies”
She shared that “rocking out” in the passenger seat was “a treat” for her, since she’s driven around so much, and Corden asked her what she will miss from the White House (as well as what she might “accidentally” slip in her bag). She will miss the people most of all, she told him.
Missy Elliott even appeared mid-ride to sing “This Is for My Girls” before moving on to another hit of hers, “Get Your Freak On.”

The song “This Is for My Girls” benefits Let Girls Learn, an initiative launched last year by the first lady and President Barack Obama to address the barriers that keep more than 62 million girls around the world out of school.
Luckily for Corden, the First Lady got home safely, because apparently the Secret Service was watching him very closely. ?
