Insomniac Launching EDMbiz Conference Before Electric Daisy Carnival Las Vegas
The pair join Jono Grant and Tony McGuinness from Above & Beyond, Richie Hawtin, Junkie XL, president of Ultra Music Patrick Moxey, and Astralwerks general manager Glenn Mendlinger as additions to the lineup, which already includes Kaskade, Steve Angello from Swedish House Mafia, AM Only CEO/founder Paul Morris, Chairman/CEO of Atlantic Records Craig Kallman, president/COO of Atom Empire Stephanie LaFera, Beatport CEO Matt Adell, and many more for a series of panels and Q&As focused on the exploding EDM community in the U.S.
Rapino and Kallman are slated for Keynote Q&As, with the latter interviewed by Topspin’s Ian Rogers as part of his ‘This Week in Music’ series, while Farrell will be the subject of a one-on-one conversation with William Morris Endeavor head of music Marc Geiger which will touch upon the evolution of festivals since Farrell inaugurated Lollapalooza in 1991 and the influence of EDM in their own careers and across the globe.
Dance Music’s Most Influential Executives
CEO/founder of Insomniac Pasquale Rotella said in a statement, “We couldn’t be more thrilled that Michael Rapino and Perry Farrell have joined our incredible group of speakers. Perry has been an ardent champion of electronic music dating back to Nine Inch Nails being on the first Lollapalooza, to producing the trailblazing ENIT festival in the mid-90’s, through today with ‘Perry’s,’ his personally curated EDM stage at Lollapaloozas around the world. And as CEO of the largest concert promotion company on the planet, Michael Rapino is uniquely positioned as EDM becomes more popular and expands globally. This is going to be a great conference!”
