Trace Cyrus and Mason Musso, who recently reunited as Metro Station, are premiering their new EP Gold today on Billboard. “After over four years of being apart, fans — and even myself — thought this would never happen,” Cyrus told Billboard this summer. But now the fans get Gold, which includes 4 new songs in addition to the band’s high-energy comeback single, “Love & War,” released in August.
Metro Station originally rose to fame on the strength of “Shake It,” which came out in 2007 and peaked at No. 10 on the Billboard Hot 100. Gold expands on the crisp, uptempo feel of that hit single, working with what Cyrus calls a “more mature sound.” The band is also “writing about new topics with more detail than before.”
Metro Station heads out on a 23-date tour starting October 21st. They plan to release a new full-length next year.
