Mega TV, the new television channel created by SBS Radio network, has let go of over 20 staff members just two months before its scheduled launch, sources say.
SBS, the largest Hispanic-owned radio network in the country announced plans for Mega TV late last year. The station, based out of Miami, was originally slated to be a local channel that would later expand nationally. Its programming was going to be mostly music and entertainment. The station was initially scheduled to launch in January but that date was subsequently moved to March.
At press time, managers at Mega TV had not returned calls for comment. Sources say the station is restructuring.
