Representatives from Sony Pictures Television International, Indian telecom Tata Teleservices and mobile-billing services specialist mBlox have been voted on to the Mobile Entertainment Forum’s Asia board.
Hong Kong-based Sony Pictures Television International Asia Pacific mobile entertainment director Rosemary Tan, Mumbai-based Tata Teleservices VAS business unit president Pankaj Sethi and Singapore-based mBlox Asia Pacific business development VP Faissal Houhou will serve on the global mobile-entertainment trade association’s Asia board, along with five incumbent directors.
They include Hong Kong-based Stefan Rust, head of development, strategy and planning at Sun Microsystems’ C3 group, who has been elected to another two-year term as MEF Asia chairman.
The Hong Kong-based association unveiled the names of the new board members following its annual MEF LIVE conference, which was held in Hong Kong Dec. 4-5.
“The new Asia board will work to ensure that MEF’s global initiatives bring a fresh perspective to local Asian markets but also impart Asia’s unique learning (experience) to encourage cross-pollination of new business models and best practices around the world,” said Rust in a statement.
“Based in Beijing, Hong Kong, Mumbai, Seoul and Singapore, the new Asia board represents some of Asia’s hottest markets and unites leading players across content, operators, communities, D2C, advertisers and technologies to guide the mobile entertainment industry with a focused agenda,” comments MEF chairman Patrick Parodi in a statement.
He adds, “I look forward to working with the Asia board to grow the mobile entertainment industry in a responsible and healthy fashion across this exciting and diverse region.”
