Meat Loaf has pulled out of another date on his “farewell” tour of Britain due to ill health. The artist has now canceled or postponed two of his eight concerts booked for the U.K.
The latest show-stopper happened Sunday night in Nottingham, and was confirmed just hours before he was due on stage. An apology was posted on his Facebook page, which stated that “several members of the band” were ill and that the concert would be rescheduled to May 20.

The artist, who’s real name is Marvin Lee Aday, has been plagued by bad health. In 2003, the beefy singer collapsed on stage in London; he subsequently underwent heart surgery after being diagnosed with a condition that causes an irregular heartbeat. In 2007, he yanked a European Tour after being diagnosed with a cyst on his vocal chords. And in 2011, he again collapsed on stage in London, blaming the blackouts on past concussion injuries and his health issues on asthma. Last year he underwent a knee replacement operation and he’s expected to undergo surgery operation on his other knee soon.
It’s no wonder Meat Loaf wants to pack it in on his touring career. He recently told The Guardian that this tour was definitely his last. “I want to concentrate more on acting. That’s where I started and that’s where I’ll finish. This time, they’re not going to rope me back in.”
