McDonald’s today named the winner of its contest to record a remix of its signature jingle “Two all beef patties, special sauce, lettuce, cheese, pickles, onions, on a sesame seed bun.”
The promotion, called the “Big Mac Chant-Off”, was done in conjunction with MySpace, which saw more than 1,000 entries over the course of a month. The winner is Jason Harper from Boynton Beach, Fla. His version will replace the jingle heard in the McDonald’s commercial that began running on June 16 by Chicago ad agency DDB.
“Although my remix is simple, it’s very memorable. I had a vision of music on a grand scale like a whole stadium of people chanting in unison,” said Harper in a statement.
McDonald’s introduced the original “Two all beef patties” jingle in 1974.
